Job Description
AECOM seeks a dual-role professional responsible for driving business growth through client engagement and business development while simultaneously contributing to project execution and delivery. The successful candidate will bridge the gap between client acquisition and service delivery, ensuring AECOM’s technical expertise aligns with client needs and expectations. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, balancing client facing responsibilities with hands on project involvement. This position is based in Southern California.
Key Responsibilities
Account Management
- Identify, qualify, and pursue new business opportunities and leads with existing clients.
- Lead and contribute to the development of compelling proposals, presentations, and interviews to win new projects.
- Act as the primary point of contact, building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with clients throughout the entire project life cycle and beyond.
- Work closely with technical, marketing, and leadership to align business development efforts with overall company goals.
- Identify new business opportunities, market trends, and potential clients and develop and execute strategies to expand AECOM’s market presence.
- Leverage professional networks to generate leads and partnerships.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and business development goals.
Technical/Project Management
- Serve as a project manager or technical lead on assigned projects.
- Strong understanding of environmental regulations, permitting, and compliance.
- Deliver high-quality work, delivering projects on time, to the specified quality objectives, and within budget.
- Solves complex, novel, and challenging issues that often require the development of new or improved techniques
- Negotiations experience with clients and California environmental regulatory agencies.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to team development.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- BS in engineering, geology, environmental science, or related field, AND (8) Eight years of experience in a technical discipline, with a proven track record in business development OR a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Successful candidate will pass a background check, motor vehicle records check.
- Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship or Permanent residency is required.
Preferred Requirements
- Master's Degree
- 15+ years related experience
- Experience managing multidiscipline projects and teams.
- California Professional Engineer or Geologist
- Experience leading large-scale environmental remediation projects.
