Job Description

With a strong pipeline of projects, this is your chance to help deliver critical energy infrastructure across Australia and New Zealand - spanning transmission, distribution, renewables, traction power, and utility grid connections.

Whether your interests lie in Primary Systems (substation and HV equipment design) or Secondary Systems (protection and control), you’ll gain hands-on project experience, technical mentorship, and exposure to some of the industry’s most innovative engineering solutions.

What will a day in this role look like:

  • Supporting the design and analysis of substation primary systems, earthing, cable rating, lightning protection, and insulation coordination studies.
  • Assisting in the design and delivery of protection and control systems, ensuring alignment with Australian Standards and client requirements.
  • Preparing drawings, calculations, reports, and technical documentation, while developing skills in industry-standard software (e.g., CDEGS, CYMCAP, PSCAD, relay configuration tools etc.).
  • Participating in site visits, inspections, and client meetings alongside senior engineers.
  • Contributing to bids, tenders, and technical deliverables that shape future projects.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex engineering challenges.

Qualifications

The qualities that help you thrive

  • Final year student or recent graduate in Electrical Engineering.
  • A strong interest in power systems - whether Primary or Secondary.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Great communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • A curiosity to learn industry tools and apply Australian Standards in real-world projects.
  • Ideally ready to commence work by February 2026. We are open to mid-year finishers who are able to commence by July 2026.
