AECOM is seeking a Project Engineer to be based in Waterloo, IA.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

• Performs specific and moderate portions of a broader assignment of an experienced civil engineer.
• Gathers and correlates basic engineering data using established and well-defined procedures.
• Works on detailed or routine engineering assignments involving calculations and relatively simple tests.
• Proposes approach to solve new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
• Identifies discrepancies in results.
• Provides guidance to entry level engineers.
• Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision.
• Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering work such as roadway, sidewalk, recreational trail, and infrastructure.
• Performance at this level requires developmental experience in a professional position

Minimum Requirements:

• BA/BS in Engineering, Construction or related field + 4 Years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
• Professional Engineer license in Iowa or ability to acquire one within 6 months of employment.
• Valid Drivers License
• Previous coursework in, or experience working with Iowa DOT

Preferred Requirements:

• 7 + years’ experience in roadway and infrastructure design project performance and deliveries
• Familiarity with Iowa DOT, and local agency specifications, policies and procedures
• Computer proficiency in MS Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Adobe and Bluebeam
• Ability to proactively communicate with project teams leadership and department staff
• Alternative delivery experience a plus!
