Job Description
The Transportation Business Line of AECOM is actively seeking a highly talented and self-motivated Civil Specialist Drafter/ Designer or Technician for immediate employment in the Cincinnati, Ohio office.
This role will provide the opportunity to directly support transformational projects including the Brent Spence Bridge Corridor project. This project is one of the largest highway infrastructure projects in the country and entails design and construction of existing bridge improvements and a new bridge crossing of the Ohio River between Cincinnati and Covington Kentucky, along with 8 miles of significant highway improvements. Design has begun and will extend over the coming years, providing a unique opportunity for multiple career-defining roles on the project. The Role Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- This position will be responsible for serving as primary departmental resource for CAD drafting/modeling at the project level
- CAD drafting/modeling will be performed in a manner which adheres to accepted engineering practices and standards, as well as company standards
- Prepare and issue all associated design/drafting packages in coordination with IT support staff
- Assist in the development, implementation and deployment of CAD drafting/modeling and survey standards on a departmental level, as directed
- Assume primary responsibility for providing a quality work product by checking the work product of associates and assuming both schedule and quality measures
- Assist in the training and development of junior staff
- This position affords the ability to make an important and meaningful contribution to our projects and our clients
- The role will provide the opportunity for skill development in many aspects of the profession, as well as opportunities for increased responsibility, challenges and project management
- The ability to work closely with design professionals at a project level with minimal supervision
- The ability to work in a team environment, using time management and multi-tasking skills
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BA/BS + None or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
Preferred Qualification:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Microstation, OpenRoads strongly preferred
- Modeling within OpenRoads or Civil 3D experience needed
