Job Description
AECOM is actively seeking a Civil Engineer Manager to join our Civil Engineering / Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) / Geotechnical practice in Virginia and the Mid-Atlantic Area. The ideal candidate will bring strong client-focused, technical, impactful leadership in the Civil / CCR market to address key environmental and engineering challenges.
You will work with a diverse team of technical experts to deliver remediation services to our clients in the Power sector market. In this role, you will support the design of various solid waste disposal facilities, earthen dams, and other civil, geotechnical, and remediation projects. Experience with Coal Combustion Residuals (CCR) impoundments or landfills is strongly preferred. The candidate should have relevant experience in civil engineering with an emphasis on site remediation, solid waste management, or other large civil projects.

The Leadership team is searching for candidates with experience in the CCR market that are a leader and role model, client-focused, impactful and decisive.
The job responsibilities for the position will include but are not limited to:
- Provide technical leadership in the areas of CCR ash basin closure, landfill design and related regulatory, planning, design and construction phase projects.
- Maintain existing client relationships and contracts by successful project delivery.
- Develop new clients and grow the CCR and Geotechnical practice.
- Manage projects and programs on schedule, in scope, and within budget.
- Manage staff and coordinate with diverse project teams.
- Lead design efforts and recruit new talent to build AECOMs team.
- Participate in national organizations, as appropriate on behalf of AECOM.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field + 8 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
- P.E. Licensed in Virginia or the ability to obtain a license by reciprocity
- Ability to travel within the Southeastern United States to visit team locations, client sites and regulatory agencies
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or related field
- 9+ years of elated project experience in Civil design, CCR or Geotechnical Engineering projects related to solid waste disposal, CCR management, dams and impoundments
- Business Development and Client Relationship Management experience
- Experience as a technical contributor on general civil and/or remediation projects
- Ability to proactively lead technical efforts and project team staff
- Experience on large scale projects
- OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training certification
- Construction 30 certification
- Significant experience working in the capacity of a project manager and client contact
- Experience and confidence to work independently to produce high quality deliverables on time and on budget
