Job Description
AECOM is seeking a GIS/Data Intern to join the transportation team in the Austin Texas office.
This position is expected to begin in January 2025
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Work on a wide range of projects and tasks and assist with field research, data collection, data analysis, graphics, maps, data presentation, and report development
- Integrate complex data models and formats from multiple sources, including spatial and non-spatial data
- Gather and document client requirements for data such as transformation, reporting, and visualization to develop detailed processes and products that are creative and easy to consume in different applications
- Working with ESRI GIS software
- Develop and analyze data using databases
- Develop Presentations to internal and external customers
- Efficiently manage multiple tasks and responsibilities
- Good communication skills and team spirit in a collaborative fast-paced team environment
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Data Science, or Computer Science, focusing on interest in GIS and geospatial Technology, and must have completed at least one year of study.
- Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor’s degree and plan to continue with the master’s degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor’s degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Interest in emerging technology solutions for transportation
- Self-motivated individual with strong organizational skills
- MS Office suite and Adobe software
- Experience in ESRI GIS software
- Demonstrate excellent written, verbal, and graphical skills
