Job Description
AECOM an exciting opportunity available for a Civil Engineering Discipline Lead, to be based in our Atlanta offices. This position offers a flexible/hybrid work schedule.

AECOM’s Buildings + Places practice includes architecture, interiors, building engineering, workplace strategy, business transformation, asset advisory, economics and development planning, master planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture.

The position will serve as discipline design lead on projects that include an emphasis on receipt, storage, transfer, and issue of finished fuel products such as aviation jet fuel, diesel fuel, ethanol, and motor gasoline.
Projects include tanker truck receipt, marine vessel receipt, aboveground and underground transfer pipelines, aboveground and underground horizontal and vertical storage tanks, and aircraft and tanker truck issue systems. Projects will also include ground vehicle refueling systems such as fleet and retail service stations.
Will work and coordinate with multidiscipline engineering teams including electrical, structural, and mechanical engineers.
Position will include responsibility for development of discipline specific design execution plans for assigned projects. Position will be responsible for completing projects on schedule and within the established budgets and for ensuring that all discipline specific contract requirements have been met. Civil Engineer will ensure that designs following established project quality procedures and that required quality control reviews and checks are completed and documented.
Will assist in training and supervision of work of junior and entry-level engineers conducting fueling design work.
The typical responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
- Provides technical leadership for a specialty and is considered to be a fully capable professional in their field
- Applies intensive and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices in broad areas of assignments and related fields. Makes decisions independently on technical problems and methods, and represents the organization in conferences
- Resolves important questions and plans and coordinates work.
- Requires the use of advanced techniques and the modifications and extension of theories, precepts and practices of the field and related sciences and disciplines
- Supervision and guidance relate largely to overall objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- BA/BS + 8 years of more experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
- Due to the nature of the work, U.S. citizenship is required
Preferred Qualifications
- 10 years of civil design experience
- Experience with site drainage and grading, retention ponds, site utilities, and erosion control
- Ability to travel one week per month inside the US and internationally
- Ability to pass background checks and gain access to military installations
- Experience and ability to use Civil 3D and standard AutoCad
- PE License
