Are you ready to lead a team of talented engineers and shape the future of development infrastructure?
AECOM continues to expand their successful and established Infrastructure Development team in Ireland and requires a Senior Civil Engineer to join the Cork office. Our established Development Infrastructure team currently has a vacancy for a Senior Civil Engineer with experience in development work.
The opportunity is based in AECOM’s Cork office. The team has an established track record of successfully delivering development infrastructure schemes both locally and across Ireland, the U.K and the Middle East. Our wide range of clients includes developers, retailers, landowners, housebuilders, blue-chip companies, and Universities. Our current portfolio of works comprises a diverse mix of local and national development and civil infrastructure projects at all stages, from Feasibility through to Detailed Design and Construction.
Each team member has a development plan to provide a clear pathway to personal development and career progression. Our clients are many and varied from both the private and public sector.
Current & Upcoming Projects:
- Large Scale Infrastructure Projects at Dublin Airport
- Residential Developments for the Land Development Agency (LDA) Schools’ projects across Ireland for the NDFA Irish Rail station projects
- Projects for the HSE from campus decarbonisation to employers representative
Here’s what you’ll do:
- Deliver: Our projects are challenging, dynamic, and high-profile. Typical duties would include designing and developing storm and foul drainage networks for housing, industrial, and commercial applications. You would use industry-standard software models, including info drainage, flood risk assessments, drafting of design drawings (including, where applicable, 3D applications), report writing, and site inspections.
- Oversee: You will work on all the tasks that are necessary to complete the primary design of engineering works. Provide guidance to entry-level engineers.
- Provide Expertise: Offer technical knowledge and expertise on all aspects of multi-disciplinary projects. Proposes an approach to solving new problems encountered using modifications of standard procedures or methods developed in previous assignments.
- Ensure Quality: Working through the complexities of our Transportation projects, you will hold our clients’ hands and overcome problems in unison when they inevitably arise. You will also identify discrepancies in results.
- Collaborate: Leading a team of multi-disciplinary engineers to deliver integrated designs and building effective relationships with our technical teams and Clients.

Qualifications
Ready to push the limits of what’s possible?
Here’s what we’re looking for:
- Experience working in a design office.
- Relevant work experience in the design and delivery of civil infrastructure from inception to handover, including experience in the design of SUDs, storm and foul gravity collection networks, water main distribution pipelines, and road and pavement design, including working knowledge of DMRB and DMURS.
- Experience in the preparation of Public Works Contracts and familiarity with the Capital Works Management Framework is desirable.
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, AutoCAD Civil 3d, Revit or similar drafting and BIM packages.
- Hold a Level 8 degree in Civil Engineering. Master’s Degree (level 9) and be a Chartered Engineer or working towards Chartered Status.
