Job Description

AECOM is seeking an energetic and highly motivated Bridges & Structures Engineer to join our forward thinking Civil & Structures team in Sydney.

In the role of Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for developing deliverables ranging from factual condition investigation reports, to presentation of analysis' and other design documentation in accordance with TfNSW and Australian standards, whilst supervising junior engineers.

It is not essential, however ideally you will have prior experience in the following areas;

  • Inspection & assessment of existing structures assets
  • Development of analysis & design solutions for Bridges, Buried Structures and/or Miscellaneous Structures
  • Exposure to construction related activities

Qualifications

The following skillsets are relevant to the role, but if you don’t tick all the boxes there is the opportunity for us to train you and you could still be a perfect fit for this role. Please apply, all applications will be considered.

  • Ability to work independently, with a responsible approach to the delivery of engineering outcomes, supervising junior engineers the selection of appropriate techniques, procedures and methods;
  • Competent in exercising sound engineering judgement whilst contributing to the design and development of engineering solutions, identifying constraints, opportunities and buildability issues;
  • Capable in the planning and organisation of tasks, people, project programmes and fee proposals;
  • A working ability in the development of analysis utilising Grillage, Space Frame and/or Finite Element Analysis software such as SpaceGass, Midas, STAAD Pro, SAP2000, LUSAS or similar;
  • A passion to engage in the creative and innovative development of engineering technology and continuous improvement systems and
  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment and proven strength in communicating concepts/ideas to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
