Job Description

Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for a Senior Sustainability Consultant to add to our Brisbane Team. You will play a key part in providing technical advice within our growing ANZ Sustainability practice across a range of projects including; sports infrastructure, transport infrastructure, civil infrastructure and other projects in the built environment.

What will a day in this role look like:

  • Provide clear, evidence-based advice to clients and internal stakeholders on all matters pertaining to ESG and sustainability.
  • Maintain a current working knowledge of current and future industry and economy-wide issues (codes, legislation, initiatives) related to net zero emissions, climate change and its impacts on our clients’ businesses. 
  • Undertake technical sustainability investigations and design discipline coordination to optimise design and generate efficiencies.
  • Develop bespoke solutions that help our clients strive towards low-carbon, net zero carbon and/or carbon neutral outcomes for their projects and procurement supply chain. 
  • Help deliver on our ScopeXTM promise to reduce our clients carbon emissions by at least 50% as part of our Sustainable Legacies ESG strategy. 

Qualifications

What are we looking for from you?

  • Ideally, 5+ years’ experience working for an Engineering Consultancy, Main Contractor or Government Department providing technically sound, sustainable solutions on construction projects.
  • A strong knowledge of relevant legislation, building and planning codes, notable sustainability policies and standards (e.g., Victorian Health Building Authority) and environmental rating and assessment systems.
  • Experience using sustainability/wellness rating tools (Infrastructure Sustainability (ISCA), Green Star (GBCA), WELL Building Standard (IWBI), NABERS, LEED will be well regarded) and ideally hold accredited status with some or all of these organisations. 
  • Demonstrate a passion for driving optimum design and engineering outcomes.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Architecture, Sustainability, Climate Change or Environmental Science/Engineering (or similar).
  • Ability to obtain defence clearance (desirable).
