Advens for People and Planet

Advens for People and Planet is an endowment fund (non-profit organization) created by the cybersecurity company Advens in 2021. Its aim is to develop and accelerate impact initiatives that participate in building a trusted digital society, notably by protecting the people and organizations that drive our lives and democracies, and by empowering each and everyone to build their own mind and engage in action(s).

And Advens puts its performance at the service of people and the planet: 50% of the company's financial value is dedicated to the Advens for People and Planet endowment fund, to be used for actions in favor of People and the Planet.

The missions

Reporting directly to the CEO, the Director is responsible for implementing the Democracy and Digital thematic pillar of the endowment fund. He/she is in charge of designing and managing initiatives, programs and partnerships, in France and internationally, fundraising, partnership management, stakeholder engagement, communication and measuring the impact of programs.

1. Design and management of Democracy and Digital initiatives: 

• Define and implement an overall strategy for programs and partnerships related to the democracy and digital theme as part of the endowment fund's impact thesis.
• Design and manage programs aimed at fostering a trusted digital society and protecting democracy.

2. Financing the Programs:

• Identify funding opportunities, including donations, technology partnerships, or any other form of income permitted by the endowment fund.
• Drafting and following up innovative funding proposals tailored to democratic and digital issues.

3. Partnership Management:

• Create and manage strategic partnerships with organisations (associations, NGOs, institutions, schools, media, etc.) providing the best impact in line with the objectives of the endowment's impact thesis.
• Coordinate joint efforts to strengthen democracy through digital technology.

4. Stakeholder commitment:

• Develop initiatives to involve employees and customers in promoting digital democracy and a trusted digital society.
• Organise events and activities to raise awareness and mobilise communities around digital and democratic issues.

5. Communication:

• Develop communication strategies to raise awareness of the challenges and opportunities of digital democracy.
• Create impactful content to share the results of programs and partnerships and generate interest.

6. Measuring Impact:

• Develop specific performance indicators to assess the impact of programs and partnerships in the thematic area.
• Prepare detailed impact reports enabling all stakeholders, internal and external, to value their support for the endowment fund's actions on the theme.

Skills required

• In-depth understanding of democracy and digital issues.
• Experience in managing complex projects
• Strong ability to write and promote editorial content
• Proven skills in fundraising and proposal writing.
• Ability to establish and maintain partnership relations with public and private actors.
• Fluency in French and English. Knowledge of German, Italian or Spanish is a plus.

Education and experience: significant professional experience in the field of associations, public institutions or the media.
