Job Description

  • Research, identify, and recommend open source or COTS software (ideally containerized or suitable for containerization) for specialized domains
  • Build/Compile software and components from source when required to facilitate the creation of containerized versions
  • Package containerized services and applications for consumption by other teams and team members
  • Able to apply security best practices against containerized software to facilitate the security hardening process according to client standards
  • Experience working in an agile environment, including standups, backlog refinement, and supporting CI/CD (Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment)

Qualifications

  • Has a Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Sciences, Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics OR has a College Technical Diploma related to Information Technology, Software Development, or Computer Science
  • Minimum 1 year experience in an applicable field of software development
  • Minimum 1 year experience performing the role of a Software Developer
  • Experience deriving functional requirements in a modelling and simulation environment
  • Experience designing simulation software in a modelling and simulation environment
  • Experience programming graphics using OpenGL, QT or equivalent product
  • Experience developing add-ons, extensions, or plug-ins
  • Experience designing, developing, coding and testing software using C++, C, or C#, and Java programming languages
  • Experience integrating and testing software
  • Experience investigating software products for use and integration into M&S applications
  • Generated test plans and procedures as well as written test reports in a “modelling and simulation environment
  • Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and/or Kubernetes would be an asset
  • Experience with the Linux command line would be an asset

Additional Information

  • Able to obtain and maintain a Canadian Government Secret Clearance 
  • Able to work remotely within Canada, and work EST hours
