Job Description

ADGA has an immediate opening for an Electronics Technician Team Leader to join our team. In this role, you will serve as the senior technical lead supporting the maintenance of advanced electronic security systems, including motion detectors, intrusion detection systems, drone detection technologies, CCTV, Radio Communication, Public Address, Metal Detectors, X-Ray Machines & more. You will also provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior and intermediate Electronics Technicians.  

Responsibilities:  

In this role, you will act as a point of contact with the Regional Supervisor and the client’s Regional Authority while managing the flow of day-to-day operations. You will coordinate the Preventive and Corrective Maintenance Plans as well as special projects, ensuring the team operates safely and efficiently. You will be responsible for applying all policies and procedures, understanding the legal liabilities associated with the position, and adhering to occupational health and safety laws. Duties include complying with safety regulations, identifying safety training needs, completing initial safety and hazard assessments, and participating in accident investigations. Additional responsibilities include motivating team members to meet their goals, evaluating the quality of their work, mentoring apprentice Electronics Technicians, and preparing reports for the Contractor Regional Supervisor and Regional Authority. You will also be required to complete On-the-Job Training (OJT) within twelve months of your start date. 

Qualifications

  • Graduated with a diploma in Industrial/Communication Technician, Electrical/Electronic Engineering Technology or a similar discipline; and/or, 5+ years of relevant experience.    
  • Minimum of 3 year of hands-on experience maintaining multiple electronic systems such as:   
    • Security (i.e. Intrusion Detection System, CCTV, Alarm Systems, etc.)   
    • Communication (i.e. Public Address System (PA), Intercom System, Telephone System, etc.)   
    • Operational (i.e. Access Control Systems, Key Management Systems, etc.)  
  • Must have at least 2 years of experience in the past 5 years managing a team of at least two people directly reporting to you.  
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and demonstrate strong interpersonal skills to solve problems effectively at the client site, using sound judgment in complex technical situations and seeking advice when uncertain.  
  • Must hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Federal Government Enhanced Reliability Clearance (Level 1). ADGA will process clearances for successful candidates.  

Other Requirements:  

  • Must hold or be willing to obtain a CompTIA A+ and Network+. ADGA will sponsor for successful candidates who do not hold these certifications.   
  • Working at Heights (Fall Arrest), First Aid, Confined Space, WHMIS will be considered strong assets.
