We are currently hiring a "Senior Financial Specialist" who has 10+ years of experience onto an established government contract!

Tasks for the Senior Financial Specialist are as follows:

  • Planning and coordinating financial management activities including financial estimates and business requirements.
  • Evaluating financial management procedures.
  • Conducting cost benefit analysis and life cycle costing (Cost and estimate Management)
  • Developing business plans.
  • Developing models to carry out cost analysis of the resources required to perform specific inspections related to a project (Project Management)
  • Performing risk analysis.
  • Determining the resources required for implementation of projects such as acquisition costs, operation and maintenance costs and both recurring and non-recurring costs.
  • Assisting in developing costs for specific activities such as: direct project costs, project support overhead, corporate and administrative (C&A) overhead, costs of products and services, and other related costs. (Financial accounting)
  • Planning, acquiring, and controlling the use of funds so as to meet the goals of an organization and maximize its value. (Procurement integration in Project Management, contract process management)
  • Identifying an organization's financial and non-financial objectives so as to improve its performance, determining whether those objectives are being effectively achieved.
  • Developing and modifying business cases and financial plans for the future.
  • Using RDMIMS and DRMIS 
  • Other duties as required by the Technical Authority

Qualifications

Security Clearance:

  • Will need to hold a valid "Secret" level clearance with Federal Government (PSPC) and also a "Controlled Goods" Certificate. We can initiate. Must be eligible. 

Education:

  • A College Diploma (related to Finance/Accounting) and a Professional Certification (related to this field - such as a CGA, CPA, CMA) or a University Degree (related to Finance/Accounting)

Experience requirements:

  • Experience performing the following activities:
    • Using MS Excel within the last 5 years.
    • Manipulating data through multiple worksheets.
    • Creating complex formula's.
    • Representing info graphically.
    • Interpreting results and performing quality control.
  • At least 10 years experience in the last 12 years working as a Financial Specialist/Analyst, and performing as many of these tasks as possible:
    • Planning and coordinating financial management activities including financial estimates and business requirements.
    • Evaluating financial management procedures.
    • Conducting cost benefit analysis and life cycle costing (cost and estimate management)
    • Developing business plans.
    • Developing models to carry out cost analysis of the resources required to perform specific inspections related to a project.
    • Performing risk analysis.
    • Determining the resources required for implementation of projects such as acquisition costs, operation and maintenance costs and both recurring and non-recurring costs.

Additional Information

  • ADGA is open to hire an "independent consultant" but your business must already be registered with the "controlled goods program". If coming on board as a "employee", ADGA can initiate this and process fairly quickly. 
  • Candidates will need to be located around the National Capital Region to be available to go on-site as needed. 
  • It would be considered a strong asset for candidates to be able to demonstrate:
    • Experience conducting cost-benefit analysis or life cycle costing related to defence material management specifically.
    • Experience developing fleet-specific and cross-fleet cost models or case studies related to defence material management.
    • Experience conducting evaluations of financial analysis related to defence material management specifically.
    • Experience using or analyzing data coming from SAP based info management system such as Defence Resources Management Resource System (DRMIS)
