Job Description

We are looking for a Software Tester to join our growing team who works in a mission-critical Defence environment where you are testing tools that keep Canadians safe!

This is a multi-faceted software development and maintenance facility for the Canadian Land Force. The focus throughout the years has been the development, maintenance and life cycle management of Army tactical software.

The tasks will include:

  • Execute all levels of testing (System, Integration, Regression etc.)
  • Design, develop and execute automation / manual scripts.
  • Detect and track software defects and inconsistencies.
  • Provide timely solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with other team members and departments.
  • Apply quality engineering principals throughout the product lifecycle (Agile and Waterfall)
  • Test planning and strategy.
  • Draft, develop and maintain test cases.
  • Execute test cases and author test case reports. 
  • Peer review
  • Secondary duties could include:
    • Advising on other software development issues pertaining to manual or automated testing.
    • Supporting and participating in trials and test events as directed.
    • Other tasks as required.

Qualifications

  • Experience in C++, Java or other computer languages.
  • Knowledge of repositories such as GitHub or Clear Case.
  • A College Diploma in Engineering or Computer Technology (or equivalent) or a University Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science (or equivalent) 
  • At least 1 year of work experience in software testing would be ideal. 
  • The following would be considered a strong asset:
    • Agile testing experience
    • SAFe certification
    • Knowledge of Rational Quality Manager

Additional Information

  • Must hold a valid Secret Level 2 (with PSPC) to start. 
  • Work arrangement: will be both on-site and remote. Flexibility is required.
