Our client operates prominently in the financial sector, where we enhance operations across their extensive network of 150,000 workstations and support a workforce of 4,500 employees. The project centers on a mobile platform designed to deliver secure and seamless digital asset experiences to its users, where you will be responsible for building the test automation infrastructure from scratch, defining the automation strategy, implementing scalable frameworks for mobile and API testing, integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, and establishing quality engineering best practices; 

We are looking for a proactive, positive, and self-driven professional who understands the customer's needs, takes ownership of quality initiatives, works independently, drives continuous improvements, and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable, high-quality product delivery.

Responsibilities

• Address complex testing challenges: Tackle asynchronous behavior and complex workflows by leveraging Playwright’s advanced capabilities to improve test stability
• Lead test design and implementation: Create and maintain detailed test plans, test cases, and automated test frameworks using Appium, Java, Cucumber, and related technologies for mobile and API testing to ensure high test coverage and early defect detection
• Shape and enforce automation strategy: Contribute to the overall test strategy and apply best practices in scalable, maintainable, and high-performing test automation solutions across mobile platforms
• Optimize automation frameworks: Continuously review and refine automation frameworks built with Appium, Java, Maven, Cucumber, Mocha, Chai, and Axios for speed, reliability, and flexibility across diverse testing scenarios
• Enable CI/CD integration: Implement and maintain automated test suites within CI/CD pipelines to ensure consistent quality throughout the software delivery lifecycle
• Support cross-team collaboration: Work closely with developers, testers, product managers, and business analysts to troubleshoot defects, improve quality practices, and align testing efforts with project objectives
• Mentor and guide: Provide mentorship to mid-level and junior team members, conduct code reviews, promote automation best practices, and foster knowledge sharing within the QA team
• Drive reporting and improvement: Leverage Allure reporting to analyze test execution results, generate automation metrics, and communicate insights and recommendations to leadership and stakeholders
• Address complex testing challenges: Tackle complex mobile testing scenarios, device fragmentation, asynchronous behaviors, and integration challenges to improve test stability and reliability

Must have

• 5+ years of experience in Automation Test Engineering
• Proven hands-on expertise with Appium for mobile test automation
• Strong programming skills in Java and experience with Maven for project and dependency management
• Solid experience with BDD frameworks, particularly Cucumber
• Experience building and maintaining test automation frameworks
• Strong knowledge of Mocha, Chai, and Axios for API and integration testing
• Strong understanding of mobile application architecture and testing methodologies
• Proficiency in test management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, X-Ray, TestRail, AQUA)
• Experience with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
• Highly proactive, self-driven, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
• Strong analytical, debugging, and problem-solving skills
• Regular use of AI tools to improve productivity, automate or reduce repetitive work, support decision-making, and deliver higher-quality outcomes.
• Ability to use AI tools responsibly by structuring effective prompts, critically validating outputs, understanding limitations, and taking ownership of the final result.

Nice to have

• Experience with Android and iOS native application testing
• Knowledge of performance and accessibility testing methodologies and tools
• Experience with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with API automation and service virtualization
