Job Description

Our client is one of the largest IT service providers for banking in Germany managing approximately 86.3 million accounts and 164,000 bank workstations across Volksbank und Raiffeisenbank, as well as around 100 private banks like Sparda-Bank and other companies. As a full-service provider and competence center for bank-related IT solutions, they offer a broad range of services, including app development, mainframe support, consulting, and migration projects, all while being a key part of the Cooperative Financial Network.

About the project

You will have the opportunity to join one of our current projects for one of Europe's leader in financial services solutions. You will be part of a dedicated team delivering end-to-end services, covering both development and maintenance, for a key client application built on the M365 ecosystem.

Your team

Our team is made up of mid-senior experts: front-end and back-end developers, PowerShell and M365 consultants, and skilled QA engineers. Working hand in hand with the client’s teams, we maintain strong collaboration and consistently deliver an outstanding product.

Responsibilities

  • Optimize System Control → Ensure the stable operation of central systems (z/OS), subsystems, and server infrastructures (Linux, Unix, Windows), using Grafana, Prometheus, OpenSearch, and automated CLI scripts for monitoring, log analysis, and secrets/certificates management.
  • Enhance Application Monitoring → Oversee and improve monitoring for distributed applications, working with Docker-based environments and (ideally) Kubernetes/OpenShift to maintain consistent performance across platforms.
  • Streamline Event Management → Manage event processing end-to-end, coordinating deployments and handling application-specific configuration updates to ensure smooth, interruption-free operations.
  • Resolve Complex Issues → Take ownership of escalated 2nd/3rd-level issues—ranging from certificate management and memory leaks to database and firewall connectivity problems—restoring system stability efficiently.
  • Strengthen Incident Recovery → Lead incident recovery efforts by ensuring rapid service restoration, structured deployment execution, and clear, consistent operational documentation.
  • Implement Process Improvements → Drive continuous improvement by implementing standardized changes, supporting emergency drills, collaborating with internal client teams, and optimizing CI/CD processes.

Qualifications

Must have:

  • Vocational training in IT, a degree in computer science, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Solid knowledge of operating systems such as z/OS, Linux, and Windows, including operational control and administration.
  • Practical experience with scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python.
  • Understanding of the technical structure and operation of IT platforms and services in data-center environments.
  • Experience with container orchestration, deployment management, and troubleshooting within OpenShift/Kubernetes ecosystems.
  • Strong sense of responsibility, reliability, commitment, teamwork, and flexibility in dynamic environments.
  • German language business-level fluency (minimum C1) and good command of English (B2).

Nice to haves:

  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Git, Grafana, Prometheus, and OpenSearch.

Enjoy our holistic benefits program that covers the four pillars that we believe come together to support our wellbeing, covering social, physical, emotional wellbeing, as well as work-life fusion.

  • Physical Wellbeing: Our wellbeing program includes medical benefits, gym support, and personalized fitness options for an active lifestyle, complemented by team events and the Healthy Habits Club.

  • Emotional Wellbeing: We believe that to maintain our overall health, we need to invest in our mental wellbeing just as much as we do in our physical health, social connections or in achieving work-life balance.
  • Social Wellbeing: As a growing community in a hybrid environment, we want to ensure we remain connected not just by the great work we do every day but through our passions and interests.
