Job Summary
As a Business Development Manager, you will lead the company’s growth strategy by identifying new business opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and strengthening client relationships. You will play a key role in expanding market presence, increasing revenue, and positioning the company competitively within the construction industry. This role requires a combination of strategic thinking, leadership, and strong commercial acumen.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Research & Strategic Analysis
- Lead market research initiatives to identify new business opportunities, industry trends, and competitive positioning.
- Analyze market data, client insights, and industry reports to support strategic decision-making.
- Monitor regulatory changes, economic conditions, and emerging technologies impacting the construction sector.
- Provide regular market intelligence reports to senior management.
2. Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies aligned with company objectives.
- Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities, including large-scale projects and key accounts.
- Build and manage a strong sales pipeline to ensure consistent revenue generation.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of high-impact proposals, presentations, and commercial offers.
- Negotiate contracts and close deals while ensuring alignment with company profitability goals.
3. Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
- Act as the main point of contact for strategic clients and ensure high levels of client satisfaction.
- Understand client needs and align company services to deliver value-driven solutions.
- Identify opportunities for upselling, cross-selling, and repeat business.
4. Leadership & Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Lead and mentor the business development team to achieve targets and enhance performance.
- Collaborate with engineering, project management, procurement, and finance teams to ensure successful project delivery.
- Align business development activities with operational capabilities and company resources.
- Support internal teams with client insights and market feedback.
5. Market Expansion & Strategic Partnerships
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships, alliances, joint ventures, and new market opportunities.
- Drive expansion into new geographic regions and market segments.
- Evaluate potential acquisitions or partnership opportunities to support growth.
- Represent the company at industry events, exhibitions, and networking platforms.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field (MBA is a plus).
- Minimum [X] years of experience in business development within the construction or engineering industry.
- Strong leadership, negotiation, and strategic planning skills.
- Proven track record of achieving revenue targets and securing major projects.
