Job Description
A-TEK is seeking a Business Development Manager to provide the leadership to grow one of the company’s largest sectors - Health Services
The primary focus of this role will be to cultivate and maintain a broad range of Client relationships and increase the company’s Health Services footprint within HHS/NIH, Veterans Affairs and DoD Health agencies.
Specific responsibilities include:
· Leveraging the company’s past and current contracts within assigned accounts, the candidate will identify, qualify and position new business opportunities (organic and new business development). Presents new business opportunities to A-TEK senior leadership and “owns” the opportunity until A-TEK go/no-go decision, when a Capture Manager is assigned. The Business Development Manager remains actively involved with assigned opportunities until contract award during which time he/she provides up-to-date client and competitive information.
· Develops and maintains a pipeline of new business opportunities, sufficient to grow the Health Services Division. Pipeline metrics have been established by A-TEK for all phases of new business development. The Business Development Manager is expected to meet an annual bookings target associated with new business growth.
· Works closely with the Division Vice President, Program Directors, Program Managers, Project Leaders, Business Development staff and the Executive Vice President to identify leads and to assist in expanding and building our current business base.
· Arranges client meetings with A-TEK leadership for assigned opportunities ensuring that the A-TEK has direct client relationships at various levels within the client organization.
· Meet with current and prospective clients and assists with determining business needs based on specific client objectives to be achieved.
· Deliver white papers, industry research and other analysis to clients and demonstrates A-TEK’s thought leadership through various means.
· Identify consulting and teaming opportunities with industry partners to pursue opportunities that complement A-TEK’s core competencies.
· Leverage past experience/contacts to establish and build new customer relationships for the company that lead to prospective business opportunities.
· Attends industry briefings and conferences related to Health Services and attends client-sponsored meetings (such as Industry Days) as required.
Qualifications
8-10 years of directly related experience
Degree Required: Bachelor’s degree is strongly preferred in Marketing, Business Administration, Technology Management or Science-related disciplines. For candidates without a Bachelor’s degree, a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience is required.
Required Skills: Experience in the following:
· Direct experience working with HHS (with emphasis on NIH), VA and/or DoD Health in a business development, sales or account management capacity
· Track record of successful business development and sales to federal government agencies
· Ability to interact with Senior Government officials
· Knowledge of federal contract vehicles to include but not limited to: GSA Schedule 70, GSA MOBIS, NITAAC CIO-SP3
· Working knowledge and experience with the business capture process
· Forming teams and developing win strategies based on client knowledge
· Excellent written and oral communication skills to include the ability to write proposal content, as required
· Active participant in managing and supporting proposal responses
· Strong interpersonal skills
· Clear understanding of all components of capture and proposal management
· Ability to multitask and work multiple requirements simultaneously
· Serve as Capture Manager when appropriate
· Assist in the development of win themes, capture strategies
· Ability to select the right opportunities that strategically align with company’s capabilities
· Identify risk associated with the pursuit of new opportunities and development of a plan to mitigate such risk
· Produce results based on key performance goals established collaboratively with executive leadership
