Job Description

I. ROLE PURPOSE

The Senior Production Planner is responsible for creating, monitoring, and adjusting production schedules to ensure manufacturing processes run smoothly and efficiently. In the F&B sector, this role focuses on balancing inventory levels with customer demand while minimizing waste and ensuring food safety standards.

II. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

1. Production Scheduling & Capacity Optimization Develop and maintain production timelines to align manufacturing output with market needs.

  • Develop weekly and daily production plans based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and plant capacity.
  • Evaluate machine and labor availability to optimize production lines and minimize downtime.
  • Adjust schedules "on the fly" in response to equipment breakdowns, ingredient shortages, or urgent order changes.

2. Inventory Management & Material Control Oversee stock levels to ensure continuous production without excessive overhead.

  • Monitor stock levels of finished goods and raw materials to prevent overstocking or stockouts.
  • Strictly manage "First-Expiry, First-Out" (FEFO) protocols to ensure product freshness and safety.

3. Cross-Functional Coordination & Reporting Facilitate communication between departments and track operational efficiency.

  • Act as a bridge between Sales, Warehouse, and Production departments to align supply with market demand.
  • Explain technical production data to non-technical stakeholders, such as Restaurant or Sales Managers.
  • Track and report on Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) including Schedule Adherence, Production Yield, and Waste levels.

Compliance & Restrictions

  • Conflict of Interest Risks: Must maintain impartiality in procurement and production decisions to avoid favoritism. Must disclose any personal relationships with vendors or suppliers.

  • Confidentiality & Information Security: Handles sensitive production data, sales forecasts, and proprietary recipes. Information security classification: Confidential.

  • Compliance, Safety, or Legal Responsibilities: Must adhere to food safety standards and internal supply chain protocols. Must comply with company policies on financial controls and information security.

1. Production Efficiency

  • % Schedule Adherence.
  • Reduction in production downtime.

2. Inventory & Waste Control

  • % Production Yield.
  • % Waste levels and expired stock (FEFO adherence).

3. Supply Reliability

  • Rate of stockouts for finished goods and raw materials.

Key Influencing Factors for KPI Achievement

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Success depends on accurate data from Sales (forecasts) and Production (capacity updates), as well as coordination with the DSP Manager, Supply Planner, and Logistics team.

  • Microsoft 365 Suite (Advanced Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Work Setting

  • Primary: Corporate Head Office / Production Facility.

  • Interacts with Warehouse and Logistics sites as required.

Travel Expectations

  • On-demand local travel to production or warehouse sites.

Qualifications

VI. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education Background

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Supply Chain, or Foreign Trade.

  • Preferred: Advanced knowledge of Demand Planning is a must; basic knowledge of Finance is a plus.

Language Proficiency

  • Required: English fluency (spoken & written).

VII. REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Minimum Experience Duration

  • 3+ years in Supply Chain.

Relevant Experience

  • Required: Experience in interpreting complex data sets and translating them into actionable business insights.

  • Preferred: Experience in the F&B or Retail sectors.

Stakeholder Influence & Collaboration

  • Required: Strong coordination skills and ability to communicate technical data to non-technical stakeholders.

Industry or Domain Expertise

  • Required: Proficiency in production scheduling, capacity analysis, and FEFO inventory management.
