You're a talented embedded firmware developer, aware of the best and newest devices available for the task at hand, and can be part of a fast-moving team that rapidly targets hardware for a new application. You can be the go-to guy to own the firmware side, in terms of architecting it as part of the larger system, implementing it, and testing it. You can get the schematic and oscilloscope out, and verify or troubleshoot the functionality of the firmware on the hardware you helped design. You can self-manage while creating the firmware for this subsystem, whether DDR, USB 3.0, Wifi, soft processors, or a gpif to someone else's FPGA, or all of the above, are involved. You use modern tools to get the job done, but if yours aren't exactly the same as those of the team you're joining, you quickly adapt.
You communicate well, and add high energy to any team you've been on. You're also organized and are proud of your code, because it provides clean interfaces for others, employs efficient design patterns, and you know how to unit and regression test.

- Technologies: Embedded Microprocessors (e.g., ARM), Soft Processors (e.g., NIOS), System on Chip (SoC), Real Time Operating System (RTOS)
- Tools: C, C++ (Std 11), Object Oriented Design, Design Patterns, Configuration Management (CM), Modern IDE’s, gdb
- Product Development: Unit Testing, Regression Testing, Real Time or Safety Critical Systems
- Industry Experience: 2-3 year min., Bachelor’s degree min.
