POSITION DESCRIPTION: 

-The Operations & Support Automation Team creates competitive advantage for our client and our client's customers by developing and managing the automated processes that our client uses to deploy and manage world class cloud and on-premise infrastructure and applications. 

-As IT Automation Manager, you’ll lead a team of talented specialists to deliver and maintain superior automated IaaS and PaaS provisioning, configuration management, CI/CD pipelines, and related services both on-premise and in the cloud.. 

-You’ll contribute by assessing the needs of our client's internal customers and putting effective solutions in place, driving continuous improvement of environmental stability while reducing friction and time to implement. 

-Working  in collaboration with teams from Operations, Engineering, Development, Support and the business, you’ll establish a constant feedback loop that will ensure that our client delivers value in alignment with company objectives and deliverables, and you’ll foster and evangelize a DevOps culture within O&S and with our client's partners in Development and Support.

The scope of the teams’ responsibilities includes:

-Be the Center of Excellence within O&S for DevOps practices.

-Be a Thought Leader in the design and implementation of strategies for migration of on-premise applications and infrastructure to AWS.

-Develop and maintain infrastructure provisioning end-user UIs and backend code in both on-premise and cloud environments.

-Develop and maintain automated Configuration Management and Auditing processes  via Ansible Playbooks, and act in a consultative role to infrastructure teams doing playbook development.

-Work with development teams to refine and improve CI/CD and Automated Deployment processes, including migrating legacy applications to automated deployment frameworks.

-Maintain and administrator the DevOps toolset; monitor the DevOps tools and best practices landscape to identify areas of interest to our client.

-Own the governance framework for Automation Team processes.

-Define and maintain the O&S Automation/DevOps roadmap.

-Identify, track and report on key metrics indicating Automation/DevOps effectiveness.

-Capture, categorize and prioritize Automation Team Requests using JIRA and Confluence.

-The Automation team is not a team of systems administrators, and does not have operational responsilibilty to provision infrastructure or deploy applications; they are responsible for the development and management of the tools, platforms and interfaces that support these activities.

-The successful candidate will be a creative, questioning, focused, critical thinker with a passion for finding better ways to do things and little concern for the status quo, able to communicate persuasively and professionally with technical and non-technical partners including senior and executive management. 

-He/she will drive initiatives in infrastructure, platform and application deployment, management and configuration auditing and any other areas where automation can yield improved service delivery.  

-This will require both traditional and Agile project management disciplines as well as strong team management skills.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS: 

-Prior AWS Cloud migration experience in a large enterprise.

-Excellent problem solving and communication skills.

-Self motivated with strong project and people management skills.

-Good understanding ITIL practices & other standard IT practices/procedures, particularly as they relate to the cloud.

-Experience with installation, configuration, and administration of the relevant technologies – AWS EC2, CICD pipeline tools, XLDeploy, Ansible, etc.

-Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field.

-Certification in any relevant technologies is a plus.
