Job Description

The Operation Manager, 24M Thailand, is an exciting new role located in Rayong, Thailand.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic and tactical operations in Rayong. The Operations Manager will run the day-to-day operations producing lithium-ion batteries with proprietary 24M technology. The role will focus heavily on process and operational continuous improvement. Operation, maintenance, EHS, and facility functions will report to the Operation Manager. This role will report to the Plant Manager. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage production activities to support yield, quality, and throughput improvement targets.
  • Build and improve upon manufacturing data acquisition, storage, and visualization.
  • Improve yield throughout all process areas leveraging common continuous improvement methods.
  • Mentor and guide direct reports (production and maintenance supervisors) to utilize collaborative communication and coordination with operators in day-to-day operations.
  • Maintain required quality levels and adhere to ISO 9100 manufacturing standards. Support root cause analysis of quality issues. Responsible for implementing corrective actions.
  • Ensure material orders are released in a timely manner to balance lead time and inventory goals.
  • Enhance daily operational metrics dashboard and update daily.  Drive accountability and discipline within operations. 
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings and inspections, completing follow-up corrective actions.
  • Work closely with EHS to ensure compliance with environmental regulations, permits and policy requirements.
  • Maintain facility service contracts to improve facility up-time.
  • Insure good housekeeping/5S practices with the department.

Qualifications

Required Skills and Experience 

  • 8+ years related work experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Thai and English languages.
  • Strong technical background – with ability to understand, troubleshoot, and optimize industrial process systems.
  • Lithium-ion or semiconductor manufacturing experience preferred. 
  • Strong leadership experience working with global teams. 
  • Experience with the high-volume manufacturing of cost sensitive products that are required to meet strict quality and safety standards. 
  • Highly motivated and action-oriented individual
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment. 

Education 

  • BS or MS Engineering or in a related field  

Physical and Environmental Standards   

  • Capable of working in a low moisture dry room environment as required: < 1.0% Relative Humidity (-50°C dew point) 
  • Capable of wearing clean room attire when working in dry room environment: face mask, hair net, safety glasses, gloves, coverall suit and shoe covers 
  • Capable of meeting OSHA standards for manual lifting guidelines: < 50lbs
