• Agile software development in small, fast-paced groups
• Development duties include full software life-cycle tasks: requirements analysis, design, development, testing, and integration

1st Edge is searching for an experienced Python engineer to join our development team and apply engineering principles to the development of our custom products. In this role, you will work with the team to actively design, develop, and test tools to support a variety of AI/Machine Learning applications, especially web-based applications.

Job Requirements

• You must be a U.S. Citizen
• You must have, or be able to obtain with assistance, a secret security clearance
• You must be willing to work on-site with the development team
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or similar

Essential skills include:

• Proficiency with Python 3
• Proven experience with scalable Django REST applications
• Experience with PostGIS or similar
• Experience with Celery
• Understanding of software engineering principles and design
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently

Desired skills include: 

• Experience with GeoDjango
• Experience working with spatial data (GeoJSON, gdal)
• Experience with containerization (Singularity, Docker)
• Experience with git or similar source control system 
• Proficiency writing automated tests
