A Financial Services business based in Hillcrest is seeking a QA Tester to start ASAP.

Job Description

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES    :    
Product knowledge
•    Ability to learn and understand the requirements of the various Marriott products
•    Ability to learn the rules around the various financial products and how they are applied in the various systems
Process knowledge
•    Develop a good understanding of the processes followed for the various Marriott products
•    Understand the workflow for each process
System knowledge
•    Ability to learn and understand the layout and purpose of the various systems
•    Understand how the various systems all work together
•    System requirements or irregularities reported by the Operations teams must be detailed and captured on an internal change request system
Project specification documentation
•    Assist in creating, planning and designing project specification documents
•    Ensure specification document standards are adhered to
Testing
•    Once a system change has been authorised and programmed, all the relevant transaction types for all products must be tested on the test system
•    Once tested, relevant findings must be updated on the internal system within specified turnaround times
•    The change may require re-testing to ensure all scenarios are working as required by the Operations team, more frequent code updates occur on the live system and system integrity is maintained
•    All testing should be documented and saved in an organised manner
•    Make recommendations on improving/enhancing our testing capabilities
•    Become involved in:
•    design of suitable test strategy
•    design and implementation of goals and testing processes for projects    
•    risk identification and risk analysis – use in planning and monitoring
•    creating and implementing test plans
•    monitoring and reporting on test activities on a project
Teamwork
•    Act as liaison between the IT Developers and the Operations teams
•    Follow up with these teams if no progress has been made on certain IT requests/tasks within required turnaround times
•    May be required to assist the Operations teams with day-to-day processing when needed

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS    :    
1.    Matric and candidate should have completed an undergraduate degree or testing certification
2.    Minimum of 2 – 3 years testing experience
3.    A basic understanding of financial products – specifically investment and unit trust products would be an advantage
4.    High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is necessary 
5.    Interest in and enjoyment of technology important 
6.    Ability to work in a team is essential.
7.    Accuracy and exceptional attention to detail are critical
8.    Individual must show initiative and be able to handle pressure
9.    Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, required
10.    Excellent numerical skills are essential
11.    Ability to consistently maintain a high standard of work
12.    May be required to work overtime from time to time
 

Additional Information

1.  A basic understanding of financial products – specifically investment and unit trust products would be an advantage
2.  High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is necessary
