Job Description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The primary role of an Order Picker is to accurately, timely, and safely pick customer orders following company policies, processes, and procedures. This role will also have other tasks assigned based upon the current work load and the needs of the company and customer.

Qualifications

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

The knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the daily tasks and job duties above are as follows:

  • · Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Must be able to legally work in the United States.
  • Must be willing to work Over-Time and weekends as/if needed.
  • Must be a self-starter, self-motivated.
  • Ability to perform basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
  • Ability to follow process, policies, and procedures on a continual basis.
  • Must be able to obtain and keep a Powered Industrial Truck License.
  • Must be able to accurately and legibly complete various forms of shipping paperwork (i.e.: Pick Tickets, BOL’s, ID Tags, etc.…).
  • Ability to accurately use a bar code scanner and a PC on a daily basis to accurately locate and pick items.
  • Ability to accurately perform item and package counts.
  • Must be able to follow instructions, policies, and procedures on how to pick, prepare, stage, restock, verify, and count inventory.
  • Use basic Shipping Department Equipment (i.e.: Stretch Wrapper, tape guns, banders).
  • Must be able and comfortable working in a team-driven environment.
  • Will be expected to clean the warehouse.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Physical Requirements:

The physical requirements of this position are as follows:

  • Ability to safely and efficiently operate sit-down and stand-up lift trucks.
  • Ability to lift 40-85 pounds on an infrequent basis.
  • Ability to stand and walk 8 hours per day.
  • Ability to climb ladders (up to 15’).
  • Ability to work in a warehouse environment (35 – 100 degrees, dusty).
  • Ability to visually inspect items for defects prior to pulling the item.
  • Ability to use tape guns, make boxes, lift pallets, stack boxes, etc…
  • Ability to talk, listen, and speak clearly to co-workers.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE.

We participate in a Drug Free Safety Program for a drug-free workplace. All positions require background checks and a pre-employment drug screen. Wage is commensurate to the levels of knowledge, skill and ability that an applicant brings to this position.

Hourly new hires can qualify for a 50 cent increase after the successful completion of the 90 day Introduction Period and receive consideration for an additional merit wage increase each year on their hire anniversary date in conjunction with an acceptable Performance Review. Regular full-time hourly employees also have the opportunity to earn up to $1200.00 in additional bonus compensation per year via our Key Performance Incentive (KPI) program.
