We at Volocopter are pioneers in the development of electrical air taxis that take off and land vertically (eVTOLs). We bring Urban Air Mobility to life, by establishing air taxis in addition to current transportation options in megacities globally. Our aim is to offer affordable on-demand air taxi services and save people time by flying them safely to their destination. As a Senior Stress Engineer, you will ensure the proper structural design of the Volocopter. You work closely with all the design engineers and the testing department. In cooperation with a Team, you will develop and optimize the composite structures following to the latest industry best practices and aviation certification standards.

Your Tasks:

• Structural load calculations and analysis
• Structural stress modelling and analysis
• Lightweight optimization of structure
• CVE function for Structure and Loads disciplines
• Generation of documentation following the EASA DOA requirements

• Hand-on, creative and solution-oriented way of working
• Experience in composite structures development and optimization process
• Strong experience in structural load analysis
• Experience in composite FEM simulation and testing
• Master Degree in area of aeronautic structure design or equivalent
• 5 years proven experience in light weight structural design and stress calculations in Aviation. Experience with CS23/CS27 is a plus
• Experienced in using CAD software (Siemens NX / FEMAP / FIBRESIM preferred)
• Good write and speaking skills in English
• Knowledge and understanding of Part 21J and EASA DOA functions
