What a VCA Dev Test Engineer does at Visa:

The Test Development Engineer will design, develop and implement automatic test equipment and test programs for design verification and production testing. This will include writing and maintaining automated test cases and ensuring continuous improvement of the test automation practice.

You will also:

·       Ensure the delivery of timely, quality solutions by leading the testing effort across projects, as required, through effective planning, scheduling, oversight and execution

·       Contribute to the ongoing quality of both delivery and testing capability to support the growth and efficiency of the testing discipline

·       Write automation test scripts using existing or new test frameworks for projects and regression

·       Create and maintain automation tools or scripts that support testing infrastructure

·       Manage test infrastructure and execution of automated tests

·       Continuously maintain automated testcases and improve the automated testing framework, as required, for performance, reusability and scalability

·       Act as a key liaison between testing and development & release teams

·       Confirm that test artefacts meet the project scope and are delivered to agreed schedules

·       Effectively plans resources for tests to achieve coverage of all required test scopes

·       Certify that testing processes and methodology are appropriately adhered to and the required level of quality is built into test planning and design

·       Effectively manage testing incidents from initiation to resolution

·       Ensure tests are designed with a focus on reuse and maintainability

This role will support one of our most strategically important issuing clients in Australia and will be responsible for delivering significant improvements to their digital consumer banking and payments experience. What you will need to be successful:

·       Tertiary qualification in computer science or a related discipline

·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

·       Experience in a testing and technical background. Must understand and have experience of the full lifecycle of testing

·       5+ years testing experience using the Software Development Lifecycle and across Full Testing Lifecycle 

·       4+ years demonstrated development experience in Java/C# and test automation

·       2+ years demonstrated experience in Appium, API level automation with Java, writing SQL queries and using TFS, Jenkins or any other CI tools

·       Advanced knowledge on any UI Testing Automation Framework using Selenium WebDriver, Appium, etc

·       Hands-on experience in Junit, Maven and/or other unit and automated testing tools 

·       Experienced in Agile methodologies 

·       In-depth understanding and experience of functional, regression and acceptance testing

·       Advanced level of SQL Server Knowledge 

·       Strong troubleshooting and application debugging skills

·       Basic understanding of design patterns and practices

·       Strong self-starter with the ability to work well under pressure in a sometimes-ambiguous environment

·       Strong communication skills and ability to progressively articulate solutions

·       Ability to remain impartial and be open minded
