Job Description
We're seeking a highly-motivated Credit Operations Manager to build and grow a new cross-functional Credit Risk team. This position requires an in-depth understanding of the principles of portfolio and account level credit risk management. The candidate we hire must have a strong aptitude for developing strategy in new markets, working in partnership at all levels of an organisation, and for building strong relationships both internally and externally (including vendors, networks, government agencies, and regulators).
You will:
Provide strategic planning for credit risk strategy, in close partnership with business leadership
Build and manage the workflow/workforce planning and development
Collaborate with risk, legal, compliance, and finance teams to set policies and reduce loss
Determine and track performance metrics and provide analysis and recommendations
Surface opportunities to improve tools, workflow and customer experience
Be a champion for your team through coaching, consistent feedback, teamwork, and leadership
Be energised by an entrepreneurial environment, which is persistent and resilient
Qualifications
You have:
5 years of experience in lending or credit operations and/or credit card services
Previous experience in people management
Experience with compliance and risk management within commercial lending environments
Strong empathic communication style and a desire to help customers find the best solution
The ability to adapt to new situations quickly and think on your feet
Detective-like mentality; simultaneous desire to help customers and obtain the truth
Excellent organisational and analytical skills, and a strong ability to communicate findings to cross-functional team members
Must be a team-oriented individual with willingness to assist in training and development of new team members
Bachelor’s degree required
