Spider ®, a division of SafeWorks LLC, has an immediate opening for a Bench Service Technician for our Baltimore (Jessup) location. We are the largest manufacturer and distributor of powered suspended access and safety solutions in North America, serving more customers with a wider variety of products and services than any other company. 

The Bench Service Tech for hoists services and repairs electrical hoists, and may also refurbish and repair other scaffolding equipment and accessories.

The Essential Functions of this role include:

• Responsibility for performing standard maintenance on all products
• Inspects all equipment in accordance with SWI (Standard Work Instructions)
• Checks and tests condition of all hoist units when returned from the field. repair, replace and refurbish as needed prior to returning the parts to available inventory
• Clean up scaffolding stages and replace or repair worn parts
• Assist in solving electrical / mechanical problems by sharing information gathered from the field with the engineering team
• Performs any other tasks or duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Two year electro/mechanic vocational certificate or equivalent education and experience
• Minimum two years of electro/mechanical experience, preferably in the scaffold industry
• Ability to read electrical schematics, diagrams and blueprints
• Understands motor control circuits
• Versed in safety regulations regarding operation and testing of powered scaffolding equipment
• Good troubleshooting skills in the absence of documented drawings
• Must be able to lift 50+ pounds and carry it a short distance
