Job Description

Provide site, and multi-site procurement, support to secure required materials for operations, manufacturing, Engineering, New Product Introduction, Services, and MRO needs.


Responsibilities


·       Respond to manufacturing demand requests and place purchase orders for needed materials to meet manufacturing build requirements.
·       Responsible for intercompany orders including entering purchase orders and/or sales orders as needed.
·        Verify stock;  Work with Planners and other Buyers on shortages, non-stocks and stock outs to determine date available.
·        Confirm and update intercompany sales orders and release sales orders to be picked for intercompany shipments.
·        Determine when air shipments are necessary.
·        Send open purchase order reports to suppliers weekly to confirm due dates and safety stock at supplier location.
·         Participate in the discovery new sources to meet demand.
·         Participate in negotiation of pricing, supply stream establishment, and part/print compliance to Flow engineering requirements
·         Responsible for supplier performance (Technology, Quality, Delivery, Reliability, Cost, Responsiveness)
·         Identify, resolve, and expedite issues to ensure timely identification and procurement of materials.

Qualifications

•             Knowledge of materials management, supply chain, distribution, warehousing and purchasing.
•             Experience with custom, highly engineered components and assemblies.
•             Strong oral and written communication skills.
•             Demonstrated business and contract negotiation skills.
•             High level of analytical ability where problems are complex.
•             Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
•             Ability to work independently on projects and function effectively in a team environment.
•             PC proficient, working knowledge of MS Office applications, Microsoft Dynamics AX experience desired.
•             Ability to read blue prints preferred
•             Must be able to travel 25% of the time
•             Two year degree or equivalent experience or training a plus.
•             Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in purchasing or a manufacturing environment, or any combination.
•             Working knowledge of purchasing and supply chain concepts with APICS, CPIM, NAPM certification and/or association a plus.
