Job Description

The Media Supervisor, National Video Investment will work cross-functionally with internal teams and vendors to develop and execute and negotiate national media buys across multiple video channels (national linear, cable, and online etc.) for an iconic theatrical client.  The ideal candidate for this position is an agile, proactive, team player who is curious and open to the changing face of media buying through technological advancement. Must haves include at least 3+ years of experience in media buying with at least two full years of experience executing and negotiating media buys across national tv. 

Furthermore, the ideal candidate will have previous experience buying spots for clients in the entertainment, theatrical or other closely related industry.  This is a collaborative, fast-pace team dedicated to great client service and fostering an environment for professional growth and innovation.  

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversees and participates in negotiating, placing, and stewarding national TV schedules from initial budget optimizations to package review to implementation
  • Stays on top of trends within the linear and digital video landscape
  • Possesses solid negotiation skills, including the ability to analyze and negotiate added value opportunities
  • Demonstrates sound strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities
  • Organizes and prioritizes workload efficiently and effectively, with an exceptional attention to detail
  • Meets set deadlines consistently
  • Gathers and analyzes relevant metrics on an ongoing basis, with an ability to react quickly to ongoing campaign results, to optimize schedules, analyze media alternatives and make sound recommendations
  • Prepares all necessary post buy analyses
  • Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Collaborates effectively across teams, including strategy and traffic
  • Demonstrates an ability to effectively and professionally manage media partner relationships
  • Takes an active interest in continued education within the evolving local media space
  • Own tactical plan development, recommendation building and negotiations across their respective channels 
  • Collaborate with Technology Activation team on data collection strategies 
  • Lead tactical planning initiatives including deck writing, budget and channel allocation and audience development 
  • Analyze data to inform purchase and channel allocation
  • Develop guidelines & budget allocations  
  • Lead strategic tactical initiatives including deck writing, budget and channel allocation and audience development
  • Oversee day-to-day campaign execution and is responsible for ensuring campaigns deliver on KPIs 
  • Acts as the channel expert for the team, having heavy communication with the marketplace and developing POVs
  • Support development of strategic approach and experience design by delivering channel ideas and providing the link to reality of historical performance and in-market opportunities
  • Responsible for management and development of Associates

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher in relevant field
  • Expert knowledge of linear and/or digital video buying
  • Outstanding Leadership skills coupled with diplomacy (can work across and within multiple teams)
  • Curious Learner
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and problem solving abilities
  • Skillful negotiator in the Video space, especially in National Television
  • Able to leverage marketplace relationships for the client’s good
  • Keep current on the pulse of changing marketplace conditions (audience, sales offerings, programming, etc.) and be able to make insightful recommendations to clients
  • Ability to adapt to change, nimbly manage challenges and make quick decisions
  • Provide oversight to National Video spend allocations
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience
