IKEA Range & Supply has the responsibility to develop, design, produce and supply IKEA stores with home furnishing solutions available to the many people. Each year IKEA Range & Supply introduce 2,000 new products in the IKEA stores. The total range is almost 10,000 products.

About you

We are looking for another bright light in Business Area Lighting and IKEA Home Smart as Product Requirement Engineer to the team Luminaires within Shared solutions.

You probably have a University Degree in Engineering, experience from working with product development and knowledge of both electrical standards for products and mechanical products in plastic or metal. You have a good understanding of how production works and what is needed to enable quality and easy to assemble solutions.

You have communication skills and are able to take the lead in your own work as well as in your contacts with internal and external stakeholders. You are able to influence others and transfer your technical knowledge to other non-technical colleagues. You have supply chain knowledge and you are skilled in requirement management, test development and verification planning. A good understanding of how to read and convert legal requirements into product requirements as well as the ability to understand, translate and apply technical requirements in product development.

About the assignment
As Product Requirement Engineer you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the components for the IKEA lighting platform together with the rest of the team. You will work close the product development team and you are responsible to set-up and document the relevant product requirements as well as to have a close dialogue with the purchasing organization and suppliers to secure successful implementation. 

You need to have good insight into IKEA specifications and test methods and be up-to-date with changes in legislation and other external requirements that may influence the product areas under your responsibility. You will work with documentation for new products as well as with improvements on the running range.
