Job Description

Your role as a General Manager is one of collaboration, innovation, inspiration, support, and coaching and in doing so, you help to create and sustain a high performing culture focused on delivering sales and profit goals. Your store models operational and visual excellence. You consistently role model the Indigo Beliefs and are a leader that sets examples for your team to follow.

Goals and Objectives

  • Gain alignment with Regional Director on store specific goals and objectives for fiscal year
  • Responsible for the financial success of the store, ensure it is well-run, well-merchandised and well-staffed 
  • Ensure teams drive best-in-class employee engagement and net promoter scores
  • Consistently meet and exceed sales plans
  • Maximize sales and profitability by soliciting, identifying and delivering on opportunities for growth
  • Effectively manage budgets and cost centres, driving positive Store Profitability
  • Hold team accountable for operational excellence
  • Inspire a visual experience that consistently aligns with the Indigo brand standards
  • Ensure leadership and store staff schedules are fully optimized to drive sales and productivity
  • Actively engage in community-based marketing and events to grow sales and strengthen community ties

Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE

  • 5+ years of management or leadership experience with demonstrable skills and success in leading and developing others
  • 5+ years of experience in specialty retail and/or multi-unit retail business environments
  • Experience leading leaders
  • Proven track record of achieving sales and performance targets 
  • Ability to be mobile on the sales floor for extended periods of time
  • Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to lift medium to large items, up to 40 pounds, while using appropriate equipment and safety techniques
