Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Research Fellow to join our dynamic Centre for Applied Health Economics research group. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to various cutting-edge research projects in health economics, focusing on areas such as cardiovascular diseases, infectious diseases, rare diseases, and non-communicable diseases.

As a Research Fellow, you’ll take on complex local and global challenges, using your skills and experience to drive meaningful change. Here’s how you’ll make it matter:

  • Conduct research that aligns with the research objectives of the Centre.
  • Maintain an outstanding track record of publication in high-impact, international, esteemed peer-reviewed journals.
  • Develop research funding proposals to support Centre initiatives and obtain competitive funding.
  • Contribute to health economic teaching activities as required.
  • Supervise other research staff and provide mentoring and research training.
  • Supervise HDR candidates.
  • Manage the preparation and formulation of publications, presentations, and research reports arising from the research.

This is a fixed term (3 years), full time position and will be primarily based at the Griffith University Gold Coast campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations. Griffith University’s campuses are located on the lands of the Yugarabul, Yuggera, Jagera, Turrbal, Yugambeh and Kombumerri peoples.

Salary Range
The full time equivalent base salary for a Research Fellow, Grade 2 is in the range $108,298 - $128,608 per annum + 17% superannuation.  The total FTE package will be in the range $126,708 - $150,471 per annum.

You will also have:

  • PhD in economics or equivalent qualifications/work experience in a relevant field.
  • Established track record of active involvement in health economics research projects.
  • Demonstrated high-level analytical skills, including economic analysis of healthcare data, health economic evaluation, econometrics, evidence-based medicine, epidemiology, or biostatistics.
  • Experience in grant proposal writing, literature reviews, preparing documentation for Ethics Review Committee Applications, and publishing scientific papers.
