Job Description

The School of Humanities, Languages and Social Science seeks to appoint a Lecturer (Level B) in Spanish language with the ability to teach in cognate areas relevant to the School.

Griffith has a strong languages' teaching program that includes Spanish, Italian, Japanese and Chinese.

The successful candidate will be expected to primarily undertake teaching and convening of courses in Spanish language; develop undergraduate curriculum; supervise Honours and Higher Degree Research students; engage in scholarship and/or research; and make other valuable contributions to the life and culture of the School. Future work allocations will be reviewed and in alignment with the operational and academic requirements of the School.

The School’s teaching activities are diverse: we deliver courses on campus, online and through Open Universities Australia (OUA).

This is a full-time, continuing position based at either the Griffith University Gold Coast or Nathan campuses.

Qualifications

To be considered for this position, you will have a PhD in Spanish language and/or linguistics, or a related field in the humanities or social sciences.

You will have an excellent track record in teaching commensurate with career stage, and the capacity to adapt to new learning environments to enhance student learning. Experience in curriculum design and development, as well as in course coordination, would also be desirable. In addition to your areas of specialisation within Spanish language, we are looking for someone who can teach in cognate areas relevant to the School.

Additional Information

Salary Range
The base salary for a Lecturer (Level B) is in the range $105,144 - $124,862 per annum, plus 17% employer superannuation. The total package is in the range $123,019 - $146,089 per annum.
