Job Description

This person ensures timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing an exceptional customer service within the Transcon department.

In addition to this, to perform tasks as requested, including, but not exclusive to, assisting in general Transcon operations.

Responsible for all aspects of the job to the Domestic Transport Supervisor.

Tasks for Domestic Transport Operator

• Proactively monitor the Domestic Transport Workflow. Run additional reports to ensure all event milestones are completed

• Plans daily work schedule and prioritises work tasks

• Create Export and/or Import files.

• Track and Trace outbound and/or inbound Domestic Transport shipments.

• Preparing and implementation of the DLSOP for new business.

• Customer retention: addressing customer requests, questions and complaints

• Accurate and timely billing of customers and vendors.

• Active role in Accounts Receivable (AR) follow up

• Maintain damage records and backorder logs.

• Handle returned merchandise in an efficient manner and ensures proper processes are followed so the customer can implement their credit policy.

• Communicate effectively with customers as required.

• Report customer feedback to management, including any signs of customer dissatisfaction.

• Contribute to maintain strong relationships with vendors (trucking companies, and others) and the Service Provider Manager (SPM)

• Assist the manager and supervisor in timely responding to requests for information and with market competitive pricing matching the scope of service required by the customer.

• Participate to the transition of new business/ updates to existing business.

• Assist in retention calls with Local Account Managers (LAMs) and complete customer reviews with your regular customers to document in the Customer Retention Management (CMR) system.

Training Requirements:

• Meet company standards of 52 hours training per year, including as needed management/leadership training

Education and Experience:

• 6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
