Scope of Position:

To lead and manage a Customs brokerage department within a branch so that the department has strong
technical expertise, flawless operational execution, strong infrastructure, strong and knowledgeable personnel, strong customs compliance, efficiency, profitability, and continual growth.

Job Description

Position Overview:

As a Transcon Agent (Road Freight), you will be responsible to ensure timely and accurate movement of freight and information, while providing an exceptional customer service.

You should also be open to implementing new system changes and enhancements as well as be involved and suggest system/process improvements

Major Tasks & Responsibilities:

Ensure smooth and timely freight process flow

Ensure accurate and timely data entry into our operational system

Track and Trace shipment files and reporting

Ensure accurate and timely client and vendor billing

Ensure delivery of freight and timely clearance when applicable

Interact with customers in arranging their shipments to meet customers service standards

Contribute and maintain good relationships with suppliers

Meet compliance at all times to regulations internal and external in accordance with government regulations

Understand department process flow, looking for best practices to improve efficiency and productivity

Ensure all Customers standard operating procedures are in place and updated in the DLSOPs

Meet KPI standards in accordance with the Company's procedures

Network communications, timely responses to emails and requests (internal and external)

Escalate problems to Management when necessary

Promote compliance in diligently following all company policies and regulations and performing the task at hand
with outstanding integrity and pride.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate has an operational background. Experience in Domestic Transportation with a dispatch
background is desired, but not required. A demonstrated ability to self-manage and motivate is critical. You must have excellent communication skills (both written and oral) in English, have a professional attitude and be able to accept and exemplify Expeditors' unique culture.

Good computer skills (Excel, Word).

6 months to 1 year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
