Colby Community College is located in northwest Kansas, approximately 50 miles from the Nebraska and Colorado borders. The college has grown from 99 students in the fall of 1964 to around 1,900 today.  

In addition to an 80-acre main campus, CCC has a 60-acre farm used as a hands-on laboratory and training facility. The college also accommodates hundreds of off-campus students at 24 locations in the 14-county service area through face-to-face, online, and hybrid courses.

Job Description

Colby Community College seeks a dynamic, motivated, and experienced higher education professional to serve as the Executive Director of Student Affairs. Reporting to the Vice President of Student Affairs, The Executive Director will lead a committed team in enrollment processes, recruitment, and programs that support new, continuing, and prospective students in their educational ambitions. The Executive Director will have an outstanding opportunity to establish direction, and strategic vision for a newly created department, to include Admissions, Outreach and the Registrar. The Executive Director provides leadership in the development, implementation, and evaluation of policies, procedures, initiatives, objectives, and goals that guide all aspects of departmental operations. The Executive Director oversees programs such as scholarships, international, peer ambassador, and new student orientation. Exceptional written, verbal, and presentation skills, and strong relationship building skills are expected.

  • Understanding of and sensitivity towards the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of students

Salary:

$45,000-$52,000

Flexible benefits program which includes: options for single and family health and dental coverage, life insurance, reimbursement accounts, sick leave and vacation leave allowances. Participation in state retirement program required.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Master's degree
  • Three years of progressively responsible experience in a higher education environment
  • Demonstrated success in supervising personnel
  • Experience in developing, and managing budgets

Preferred:

  • Five years of progressively responsible experience in a community college setting working in student affairs/enrollment services
  • Demonstrated commitment to data-based decision making, continual assessment of operations for effectiveness, and knowledge of best practices which support enrollment growth
  • High level of functional/technical acumen, and proficiency
