Job Description

We currently have an open, full time position for an experienced business development professional responsible for driving revenue growth within Boston Engineering. The primary focus of this position is to discover and to develop new client relationships and business opportunities that support the achievement of new business revenue targets while maintaining relations with existing clients to expand our services into new areas and to build additional client revenue streams. The expectation is this person will have the ability to operate, to sell and to achieve targets with a high level of independence and a nominal need for management oversight.  Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Drive new and existing client revenues to meet quota objectives.
  • Lead & orchestrate an integrated sales process for both new clients and existing clients.
  • Understand & communicate new client’s requirements, needs & expectations to the Delivery teams.
  • Nurture & leverage Boston Engineering marketing follow-up to drive new business opportunities.
  • Provide feedback to management on current trends and opportunities in the market.
  • Utilize CRM (Salesforce) to capture opportunity information, contacts, communications and other proprietary client insight and interactions

Qualifications

The ideal candidate would have the following skills and qualifications:

  • Knowledge and experience applying formal selling practices and techniques in a complex sales environment including solution-based selling, conceptual selling, value-based selling and strategic selling.
  • History of successfully selling large scale, professional and technical services to the executive level.
  • Familiarity with a complex proposal process.
  • Ability to determine new opportunities with both existing clients and new business as it relates to Boston Engineering’s capabilities.
  • Ability to lead and to influence the business pursuit team to achieve a common goal.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a fast-paced, high energy organization.
  • Excellent communications and writing skills along with exceptional follow-up skills.
  • Ability to facilitate large scale meeting environments and event presentations.
  • Self-driven, motivated and have a track record of being successful in an environment with minimal supervision.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience with selling involving complex, technical service based offerings.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, technical degree preferred.
  • Proven success in business development of a consulting practice.
  • Established knowledge of professional services company operations.

Compensation  Range: $70,000 to $90,000 plus commission.
