We are a multi-disciplined firm of professional engineers, environmental scientists, planners and landscape architects with offices in Syracuse, Albany, Rochester, Newburgh, and Watertown, NY, Camp Hill, PA and Lanham, MD. B&L specializes in transportation engineering, water supply, wastewater management, solid waste management, land planning and site design, and environmental and facilities engineering. We are looking for bright, motivated candidates to join one of the leading consulting engineering firms in the northeast.

We are currently seeking an experienced seller-doer structural engineer to help lead the growth of our structural engineering and facilities discipline in Maryland and the Mid-Atlantic states. This is a full-time
position in our Lanham, Maryland office.

Duties primarily include providing structural engineering services related to steel, timber, concrete and masonry structures. Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

- Business development.

- Project management, preparation/review of plans and specifications, and client communications for structural engineering assignments and projects.

- Working with other project team members including architects and electrical, mechanical and civil engineers to allow for effective, integrated, and well-coordinated project design solutions.

- Project coordination with technical quality control and oversight with regard to most if not all of the types of structural engineering services and capabilities listed below:

• Preparation of design plans, calculations, details and public bidding documents.

• Structural investigations, evaluations, and upgrades.

• Building and building system designs.

• Equipment and building foundations and support structures.

• Process and materials storage structures.

• Lateral structural systems design and analysis.

• Building code/structural review and analysis.

• Selective demolition design.

• Constructability reviews.

• Construction administration and inspection.

Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in structural engineering (or civil engineering with an emphasis on structural engineering) with a minimum of 10 years of consulting experience in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Maryland is required. A seller-doer with experience with clients in Maryland and other Mid-Atlantic states is preferred.
