We are a multi-disciplined firm of professional engineers, environmental scientists, planners and landscape architects with offices in Syracuse, Albany, Rochester, Newburgh, and Watertown, NY, Camp Hill, PA and Lanham, MD. B&L specializes in transportation engineering, water supply, wastewater management, solid waste management, land planning and site design, and environmental and facilities engineering. We are looking for bright, motivated candidates to join one of the leading consulting engineering firms in the northeast.

We are currently seeking a Structural Engineer to join the Facilities group in either our Syracuse or Albany office.

Responsibilities include assisting senior engineering staff with:

• project site investigations;
• structural analysis and design;
• preparation of design reports;
• preparation of engineering drawings;
• production of specifications;
• and verification of construction projects for compliance with plans and specifications.

This position requires frequent coordination and interaction with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, sub-consultants, and municipal officials.

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering, and a minimum of 5-10 years of applicable experience in the design and/or analysis of steel, timber, concrete and masonry structures; experience with NYS Building Codes is required. Considered applicants shall also possess working knowledge of lateral structural systems design and analysis. Experience with Risa-3D design software and Revit and/or AutoCAD is preferred.

Candidates must be proficient in technical writing and possess excellent communication skills to effectively interact within a project team and external clients. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in NY is required and experience in the consulting engineering field is preferred.
