We are a multi-disciplined firm of professional engineers, environmental scientists, planners and landscape architects with offices in Syracuse, Albany, Rochester, Newburgh, and Watertown, NY, Camp Hill, PA and Lanham, MD. B&L specializes in transportation engineering, water supply, wastewater management, solid waste management, land planning and site design, and environmental and facilities engineering. We are looking for bright, motivated candidates to join one of the leading consulting engineering firms in the northeast.

We are seeking an experienced civil/environmental engineer for a full-time water-wastewater engineering position in our Lanham, Maryland office.

Duties primarily include engineering related to potable water supply systems and/or wastewater management systems, as well as some general civil and environmental engineering.

Technical duties include project management and oversight of:

• Design all aspects of water and/or sewer piping systems and pump stations for both new and rehabilitation projects.

• Develop contract drawings, specifications, and estimates for treatment facilities including both water and/or wastewater treatment plants.

• Design and detailing of municipal water supply and/or wastewater management facilities.

• Preparation of engineering design reports and feasibility studies.

• Verification of construction projects for compliance with plans and specifications.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with a minimum of 10 years of experience in the analysis and design of municipal water treatment & distribution systems and/or municipal wastewater collection and treatment systems, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Registration as a Professional Engineer (P.E.) in MD is required and experience in the consulting engineering field is desired.

Candidates should be proficient in technical writing, possess solid marketing and communication skills, be able to interact effectively with staff and clients, and have experience in the preparation and presentation of proposals. Candidates will be responsible for managing and/or providing technical assistance to continually advance projects within scope, budget and schedule for all phases of water and/or wastewater projects.
