Job Description

Management of (new) transport opportunities, rate negotiations with vendors, resolving service issues with vendors. The Logistics Account Manager is responsible for supporting the booking / logistics team for all
matters in his/her area of responsibility. The Logistics Account Manager should have solid working knowledge of the responsibilities of all parties in the export transaction including that of the buyer, supplier, inland/ocean carrier, stevedore, customs agent, and governmental agencies such as the customs
authorities. Provides daily operational support to the Purchasing Team in order to achieve superior service levels to ACNE stakeholders. In short, the Logistics Account Manager ensures the logistical framework for a high-volume export-based operation, focusing on cost minimization, efficiency, and compliance with applicable legalities in his/her dedicated areas in cooperation with the Senior Logistics Manager.

The Account Manager should have solid working knowledge of the responsibilities of the entire logistics department and other areas of the business that may impact on the department or likewise.

Key responsibilities:

  • Instruct and support the Booking colleagues in their choice of inland freight vendors / shipping lines and
    provide guidance in this logistics area.
  • Developing and maintaining good commercial cooperation with vendors, potential vendors / lines / custom
    agencies
  • Work on commercial ocean freight activities for nominated accounts / areas
  • Negotiate inland freights and nominate vendors for new and existing freight movements
  • Full coordination on Inland freights in designated areas, administration and internal reporting
  • Resolving service issues with vendors and monitor performance and service level in cooperation with SLM
  • Benchmarking of freights (inland /ocean and customs)
  • Freight reporting inland / ocean freight report, administration and presentation to SLM
  • Provide optimal service to our Chinese customers: best routings and best conditions
  • Provide daily operational updates as required to supervisor and management
  • Global mindset and cultural sensitivity
  • Ensure responsibility is taken for H&S which impacts on the working areas
  • Find solutions for issues and escalate urgently
  • Prioritize extra costs and escalate

Logistics Account Managers who will be accountable and responsible for the proactive management of procurement, account management and commercial processes / procedures, cost control, reporting,
risk management, a extensive background in successful commercial achievements in either Sales, Business development or tendering/procurement, you will also have:

  • Full clean driver’s license
  • The flexibility to be able to travel on occasions
  • You have experience of discussing potential opportunities direct to key decision makers in business or driving agreements through channel partner engagement
  • You will need to be someone who hates standing still. Being 'proactive' is hugely important, as you will be working in a fast moving, dynamic and results driven organistion.
  • Must have existing B2B business development or account management experience, this could have been attained either in the field or as an internal person. The only point we want you to demonstrate is a track record of winning new business.

Qualifications

  • Approximately 3- 5 years of relevant work experience required
  • A understanding of commercial and logistics
  • Full time available
  • Bachelors degree required.
  • Result oriented/ Negotiation skills/ Persuasion and influence/Flexible behavior
