As Quality Control (QC) Manager you are responsible for quality assurance on an ongoing basis (in line with quality management policy) to ensure that the business’ products are conform standard, meet customer expectations and comply with international regulatory standards and legislation. You will do this primarily by leading a group of QC Inspectors that are out in the field, inspecting the business’ product where it is produced. You will work closely with our commercial department that buys the recovered paper and plastics and our operational department that arranges transport to our customers. All issues and significant events related to quality in the supply chain need to be timely and effectively addressed and solved by the QC Manager. Furthermore, you provide leadership and management to a team of QC Inspectors out in the field and an administrative team in the office. You will be out in the field yourself for about 30% of the time: shadowing Inspectors and visiting suppliers. Next to these tasks you will also help our customers running a smooth production process by providing them with spare parts for their machine park.

What your job actually requires

• Quality Control management: you protect the company against quality claims.

• Claim management: investigate incoming claims, management, support on settling

• Spare parts: Timely and profitable supply to our customers

• Relationship management with Chinese authorities and their delegates working in the field of
  Quality Assurance

• You are responsible for all issues related to quality in the supply chain (from the moment the material leaves the supplier until it arrives at the customer).

• Solving compliance issues

• Reporting, analyzing incoming data and formulation of actions and solutions

• KPI Reporting

• Coaching and developing QC Inspectors and QC team members

• Staff management and evaluations

• Gatekeeper of quality standard by ongoing grading the quality per grade per supplier.

• Decisive and appropriate actions to protect our company against shipment of nonconforming qualities

What we ask

• Approx. 5-7 years of relevant work experience in Quality Control
• Approx. 3-5 years of relevant experience in the paper industry
• HBO (Higher Vocational Education)
• You are fulltime available
• Fluency in English and Dutch. Any other EU languages is a plus
