Job Description

As a Booking Coordinator you are responsible for arranging regular and ‘ad hoc’ transport of goods in various modalities, including truck, barge, rail, and/or sea-going vessels. This includes daily communication with these business partners to acquire the best result. You will provide daily operational support to the Purchasing Team in order to achieve superior service levels to our clients.
You should have knowledge of how the ports work, how the Shipping Lines plan space and and how cargo moves from supplier to the port. You will execute bookings timely and quickly, and prepare and manage bookings.

What your job actually requires

  • Booking of outbound cargo shipped for the assigned area
  • Maintaining day to day communications with steamship lines
  • Resolving logistics service problems between freight related stakeholders
  • Developing and maintaining good cooperation with vendors
  • Reporting activities relating to Operational performances.
  • Support and coordinating team workload
  • Developing team protocols

How will you do this?

  • MBO education (with diploma) in logistics, preferably STC
  • Good computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Tenacious (constantly following up) 
  • Knowledge of the haulage market and shipping industry is a plus
  • High service level, good communication skills, motivated and committed
  • Affinity with working in an international environment
  • Stress-resistant
  • Well-organized
  • Accurate
  • Sense of urgency 
  • Good communicator and hands-on mentality
What we ask
  • Approx. 3 - 5 years of relevant work experience (preferably in logistics or supply chain)
  • Fluency in English and Dutch (verbal and written). Any extra other European language is a plus
  • A basic understanding of commercial and logistical concepts is a plus 
  • You are fulltime available.
