Job Description

As an Account Manager you are responsible for the on going procurement of recovered paper in the France (and Belgium), which will be exported to our clients in the Far East. You are expected to maintain and grow commercial relationships with existing suppliers and develop new procurement opportunities in the European market. You will have extensive contact by telephone with suppliers and travel between 1 to 2 working weeks per month to different sites of suppliers of recovered paper.
We are looking for an Account Manager with a hands-on mentality. In this role you will be held responsible for orders, execution of these orders, involved costs and quality of product and your work.

What your job actually requires

  • Frequently travelling to industrial warehouses with recycled products to meet with suppliers

  • Frequently communicating with existing suppliers

  • Negotiating terms and conditions of supplier agreements

  • Maintaining quality specifications and resolving quality issues as they arise

  • Gathering market information for further analysis

  • Researching new market opportunities in close cooperation with the logistics team

  • Presenting the company to potential suppliers

  • Frequently communicating with the back office and the logistics team while striving for commercial and operational excellence

A typical day of an Account Manager?
Not a single day is the same! You are doing research, reading a market report and then the phone rings. It is one of your suppliers with a problem and they want you to solve it. In this role you are the spider in the web. You are the link between the supplier and the back-office (customer service, booking, logistics).

What we ask

  • HBO (Higher Vocational Education) in e.g. commercial economics
  • 5 years experience in a procurement type of role or other commercial role
  • (Near) native French, fluent English.
  • Valid passport/ID and driver’s license with safe driving record
  • You are fulltime available
  • Professional appearance
