Description of Duties:

Responsible for programming activities related to new development and maintenance of existing Java web-based applications. Works with systems administration team to understand customer requirements and objectives. Contributes to, develops and executes technical documentation. Uses applicable methodologies, modeling/estimating techniques, tools, applications, systems, software and databases to perform assigned tasks. Complies with the standards and organization requirements relative to specific assignments.

Minimum Qualifications:

MUST BE A US CITIZEN

Completed Bachelor degree in Computer Science, or related field. Two years of additional general experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s Degree.
• Ability to work in small, rapid-development teams.
• Ability to learn and leverage other team members’ experience.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communications.
• Currently holds, or has the ability to obtain, a DOD Secret Clearance. An Interim Secret is acceptable to begin work.
• US citizen.
• Ability to obtain a Security+ Certification before starting

Technical Requirements:

• One+ year of software development experience with Java, JSP and/or MVC or with similar stack, including front end (HTML/CSS3/Javascript, jQuery, etc) and back end (SQL) programming of web applications.
• Experience with Eclipse/Netbeans or other Java IDE preferred.
• Experience with source- control systems, such as Subversion preferred.
• Experience with SQL Databases such as SQL Server, Oracle or Sybase preferred.
• Understands Software Development Lifecycle.
• Understands software design patterns/principles.
• Understands object oriented (OO) programming.

Essential Non-Technical Qualifications:

• Strong written and verbal communications.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
