Job Description

As the Systems Administrator, you will hold a critical position on our dynamic team within the U.S. Army Network Enterprise Center (NEC) at Fort Benning, GA. Your knowledge, experience and subject matter expertise will ensure the government customer's Network and Systems and its users are supported to the highest standards and with the utmost professionalism. Highlights of Responsibilities:

  • Resolve customer technical issues through research, reproduction and troubleshooting by utilizing system administration skills.
  • Duties may include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocate mass storage space.
  • Interact with users and evaluates vendor products.
  • Make recommendations to purchase hardware and software.
  • Provide Data Center administration within a Large Enterprise Data Center.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, primarily by telephone and email.
  • Resolve customer technical issues through research, reproduction and troubleshooting. •Work directly with other technical support staff to resolve problems.
  • Help test alpha and beta products.
  • Enforce Windows Server Administration standards, policies and guidelines and implement them as needs are identified.
  • Maintain continuously updated documentation of key applications in order to facilitate the support and improvement of the platform.
  • Install configure upgrade, maintain OS and software packages in support of mission requirements; scheduling installations/upgrades IAW IT procedures, tuning systems to optimize performance and ensuring data recoverability.
  • Participate in special projects as required 

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years direct experience in large enterprise data center environments.
  • 2-5 years of strong Systems Administration background that includes Windows 2003-2008 servers within a large enterprise data center.
  • Active DoD Secret Security Clearance •CE certification required: Security+ and MCSE OR MCITP OR MCSA
  • Working knowledge of CISCO Switches/Routers, Call Manager experience (VOIP), INFO BLOX knowledge, Brocade switches, KG175A and KG175D, understand layer 2 switching and a working knowledge of layer 3 routing, experience with remedy.
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and holidays if requested.
  • Experience in LAN/WAN environments, implementing and administering System Center Operations Manager 2007 or 2012
  • Proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of Windows Server Platform
  • Experience with Active Directory, experience troubleshooting HW/SW related issues, including 3rd party application integration.
  • Associates Degree or higher in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.
