Job Description
This is a unique opportunity, driving business development activities in Portugal. This role, reporting to the Country Manager, will be part of a sales team put in place to achieve ambitious growth targets.
What's it all about?
Responsible for actively developing new business relationships to promote Visa portfolio. You will also find key players amongst our clients to develop & deliver Visa products and services.
What we expect of you, day to day.
- You will be able to develop and execute the annual market development plan for Visa portfolio and contribute to the market strategy development;
- Proactively identifying and executing business development opportunities.
- Assist in launching new products or expanding the penetration of existing products within current and new accounts;
- You will develop collaborative relationships with multiple partners and key clients, and work with them to identify new opportunities that help grow their business;
- You will drive negotiation with Clients including at senior levels of the organization;
- You will be commercially focused, comfortably able to navigate negotiations and you will be able to articulate the value of business propositions, customers business model, key cost drivers and growth paths;
- You will be providing a client perspective on new business proposals, solutions/products and processes, working with the wider Visa organization to ensure client/market needs are being met;
- Expected to be proactive in gathering information & data from different sources (e.g. market research, public information, client reports and internal tools), as well as full understanding of the Clients Visa Key drivers;
- Does not have line management responsibility but may be expected to provide guidance and support to less experienced colleagues.
- Everyone is a leader at Visa, and you will be building analytical skills and business knowledge on teams, sharing your subject matter expertise and acting in a mentorship capacity where appropriate.

- A passion for Fintech, and in particular payments
- Previous sales experience preferably in a complex matrix environment
- Knowledge and experience of the payments business and/or financial services
- Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise with stakeholders at various levels within own Client business
- MI/Strong analytical capabilities are a plus
- Excellent English written and spoken skills
- Portuguese language native/fluent
- Ability to learn and apply a strategic understanding of the payments landscape and Visa.
